Description: Paid teaching positions available!

K-12 English teaching include 30 hours per week classroom time. Class size will likely be 35-38 students. Teachers will co-teach with a local Chilean teacher. Co-teachers will participate fully as teachers in the school, assume their fare share of assignments, and all other responsibilities that other school staff are expected to accept. Course curriculum is provided.

Qualifications / Skills Needed: Native English speaker is a must. Additional skill requirements for applicants vary depending on the needs of the requesting teaching institution. Some positions are conversational in nature requiring no background in teaching English as a foreign language and no knowledge of Spanish; other positions are more specialized such as developing and administering specialized workshops, desiring TEFL or TESOL certification.

Cost Includes: For those applicants that are reviewed and accepted by a Chilean teaching institution, TeachingChile provides a number of services: pre-screening of the most worthwhile teaching opportunities, assistance in finding affordable lodging with a host family, transportation from Santiago airport to location of first night's accommodation, experienced in-country coordinators to provide support and services during the participant's stay, a two-week in-country orientation and training, a pre-paid insurance package that includes health and accident insurance as well as personal liability and baggage insurance, a one-year subscription to an English-language Chilean newspaper, and a pre-departure information guidebook to ensure participants are prepared for the trip including visa advice and other recommendations to be sure they are properly equipped.
